This is a quiet, restful practice, appropriate for both new and experienced yoga students. Props such as bolsters, blankets and blocks are used to provide full support for the body. This allows poses to be held for longer periods of time, promoting deep relaxation and rest.
I currently teach a weekly Restorative Yoga Class on Sunday afternoon at Bliss Body Yoga, located on Lake Boone Trail in Raleigh.
Yoga for Anxiety Relief
These programs integrate psychological and yogic principles which aid in the management of anxiety. Participants learn breathing techniques, meditation, gentle and restorative yoga practices, in an environment that encourages self exploration and group discussion. We will be offering several Yoga for Anxiety Relief workshops in the Fall of 2019 at Bliss Body Yoga: September 22, November 17 and December 15th. You Call This Yoga
I serve on the Board of Directors of the non-profit organization You Call This Yoga. Our mission is to help the physically challenged and underserved improve their lives with yoga. My role is Co-Chairperson of the Development Committee, building relationships with partners, donors and foundations. I've been involved with the organization since its founding in 2010 and believe that this organization is having significant impact in Wake and Durham Counties.
